I can't even remember the last time I'd ridden a bike. It was scary at first, but I got the hang of it pretty quickly...
This fabulous machine cuts my trip to school down from a 35min walk to only about a 15 min ride. Woohoo!
And where, you may ask, did I get this beaut? From the old swedish man, of course. Only 350 sek. What a deal? ... We'll see how it holds up through the icy winter...

The Apartment - Doktor Sandbergsgata, Nybro, Sweden
I found the cutest little apartment for Dana and I to live in. Shared with our Italian roommate, Carmelo.
Thats the apartment! Spacious and lots of character... :)
Entrance / Porch. (kitchen to the right, other hallway to the left, living and dining room forward) |
Kitchen. Love the stainless countertop/sink area! |
Massive fridge and freezer. Strange water cooling system tho. And it makes a scary, loud noise sometimes. |
Cute lil dining room |
Living room with fireplace |
Rest of the living room, and door to the balcony |
Balcony |
Balcony View |
The other hallway, lined with our closets. Leads to my bedroom, Carmelo's bedroom and the bathroom |
Bathroom. The toilets flush kinda odd in this country....And I was super excited about the towel warmer, but i've since discovered that it really doesn't do much warming. Shucks. |
Shower. Nice and large but I missing having a bathtub sometimes |
My bedroom! I'm living the simple life over here; I lack most personal, material items. haha. But I will survive. |
Note the Ikea light!...The rest has all been supplied by the 2nd hand :P |
Lovely view from my window. Very green and red |
And apparently window screens don't exist in Sweden? Seems strange.hmm.. |
Thats the apartment! Spacious and lots of character... :)

Copenhagen - Cabinn Hotel
8 Hour flight from Calgary to Amsterdam. 6 1/2 hour layover. 1 1/2 hour flight from Amsterdam to Copenhagen. All with no more than 1/2 an hour of sleep. So we decided to stay the night in Copenhagen and catch a train to Nybro in the morning.
Dana climbing up the bunk bed ladder. Our hotel room was super tiny and super cute There's the door to the lil', corner bathroom. |
The lil' shower |
The lil' sink and the lil' toilet |
And that's all for the grand tour! As I said, it was tiny and cute.

Red Deer College Series Program
My summer of tech-ing at RDC has just come to a close. Each week I met a new batch of students/instructors, and as the days went on each class developed its own unique dynamic and vibe. It was exciting to be part of this and by the end of each week, I was bummed to see all my new friends leave!
My 'office' Jeff Burnette's Class. 2010 'Mystery glass piece' which we found in the basement storage...No offence, but who knew glass could be so scary!...just saying A collaboration piece between Paul and I; the bottom part is mine and the top is Paul's contribution. Made for Jillian :) Series: Summer School of the Arts |
